Hokie Stone Press is a student‑run publication at Virginia Tech committed to truth, virtue, and meaningful dialogue. We were founded to bring clarity, balance, and conviction to campus conversations — and to give students a place where ideas can be expressed with honesty and courage.
1. Promoting Virtue and Moral Responsibility
We believe that faith, character, and personal responsibility strengthen both individuals and communities. Our work affirms that integrity, humility, courage, and service are not outdated ideals but essential virtues for a flourishing campus culture. We aim to communicate with clarity and Godly love, building up rather than tearing down.
2. Offering Thoughtful Conservative Commentary
Hokie Stone Press provides an alternative to the dominant ideological lens often found in campus media. We represent a broad spectrum of conservative thought — from libertarian to neoconservative, from traditionalist to populist, and even the rising post‑liberal perspectives shaping Gen Z. Our goal is not uniformity, but honest, principled engagement across the Right.
3. Defending Free Inquiry and Civil Discourse
Universities should be places where ideas are tested, not silenced. We champion open debate, intellectual humility, and the pursuit of truth. Disagreement is not a threat; it is an opportunity for growth. We welcome students of all backgrounds to read, question, challenge, and engage with our work.
Who We Are
We are a team of Virginia Tech students — writers, editors, designers, and thinkers — united by a shared belief that faith, reason, and tradition still matter. We strive to produce journalism and commentary that is responsible, thoughtful, and grounded in virtue.
Our Vision
To build a publication that strengthens the moral and intellectual life of Virginia Tech, encourages students to think deeply, and fosters a culture where truth and charity walk hand in hand.
